Job summary

NOCO Humane is seeking a Behavior Manager to oversee Behavior and Foster/Transfer teams across Loveland, Greeley, and Evans, CO. This exempt role manages staff, develops programs, and ensures compassionate care for animals including dogs, cats, and other species.

You will lead behavior assessments, staff training, and program development while coordinating across campuses, including travel to partner sites, with a schedule that may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or animal behavior or related field; required or equivalent experience.
• IAABC certification required/strongly preferred; shelter IAABC affiliation desired.
• Minimum two years of hands-on companion animal training or behavior assessment required.
• Experience with positive reinforcement training methods preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hire, manage and supervise staff and volunteers in Behavior and Foster/Transfer departments.
• Develop and implement SOPs for Behavior and Enrichment and Foster/Transfer aligned with regulations.
• Conduct daily behavior assessments and determine outcomes (adoption, foster, transfer or euthanasia).
• Oversee budgets, goals, and monthly reporting for the department.
• Collaborate with other departments and partners to promote animal welfare and community programs.
