Job summary

HHSC’s Terrell Center for Youth seeks a Behavior Analyst I to support treatment plans for psychiatric patients. You will observe, assess, and design interventions addressing behavioral challenges, collaborate on behavior support plans, and train direct care staff.

The role emphasizes clinical assessment, data review, and teamwork within a state-operated system. Experience with behavior analysis and development of behavior support plans is required, along with knowledge of medications used in

Qualifications

• Master’s or higher in BA/related field.
• Six months of psychology/behavior analyst experience.
• Two+ years implementing behavioral services with adults with developmental disabilities, substance abuse or serious mental illness.

Responsibilities

• Observes and assesses patients during treatment planning and designs positive interventions.
• Reviews and approves functional behavior assessments and behavior support plans.
• Writes and communicates behavioral support plans to direct care staff; provides in-person training.
• Evaluates programs and unit milieu management to guide treatment for psychiatric population.
• Provides consultative services on behavioral interventions and alternatives to restraints.
• Participates in Behavioral Support Plan Peer Review Committee to ensure rights and adherence to TAC.
