Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a behavior aide to support students with diverse needs in in-district classrooms and standalone schools across our network.

You will collaborate with teachers to deliver small-group instruction, monitor student behavior, track progress, and reinforce learning using SESI's CASE framework. Ability to implement de-escalation and safety measures is essential, with a focus on creating a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group instruction and implement SESI’s academic rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support and conduct assessments.
• Reinforce learning and assign tasks using data to determine appropriate materials; perform one-on-one tutorials.
• Assist the teacher with large group activities, grading, and guiding independent study or enrichment activities.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and safety measures as needed to protect students and staff.
• Support daily plans, and track student growth toward academic, social, and emotional goals.
• Supervise students during transitions and coordinate with other staff to address student needs.
