Job summary

Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy is hiring a Behavior and Academic Support Assistant to help teachers with daily behavior and academic support in the classroom. This role may be assigned as a Transitional Learning Center Assistant or an Instructional Aide to maximize instructional time.

Responsibilities include collaborating with general and special education staff, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting students with modifications and accommodations.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in education or related field preferred but not required.
• All applicants must hold a high school Diploma or GED.
• RI Paraprofessional Standards or willingness to complete requirements within 1 year.
• CPI certification or willingness to obtain within 1 year (if applicable).
• Bilingual candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain collaboration with general and special education teachers to ensure daily behavior and academic supports.
• Maintain confidentiality of information concerning scholars and families.
• Monitor and support modifications or accommodations for scholars with disabilities.
• Work with scholars individually or in small groups to reinforce content.
• Assist teachers with instructional and non-instructional tasks.
• Support TLC program in classroom management and routines.
