Job summary

Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy is hiring a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support our diverse student population. The BCBA will administer and tailor behavior intervention plans, work closely with families, and provide training and supervision to staff. We value equity and strive for an inclusive environment.

Expectations of a BCBA include (but are not limited to):
  • Administer behavior intervention plans and tailor interventions as needed
  • Meeting with families and school staff to discuss the scholar’s behavior intervention plans and progress and recommend ways to address behavioral issues
  • Developing individual plans to correct, maintain, or improve certain behaviors
  • Provide direct instructional supports including, but not limited to, practicum supervision/teaching, class instruction and in-service instruction to other support professionals.
  • Provide on‑going training and support to support professionals and ABA implementers
  • Ongoing training and supervision of paraprofessional staff in implementation of behavior reduction strategies
  • Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools, to conduct functional assessments and analyses when appropriate, and to develop appropriate behavior strategies and intervention plans
  • Meeting with scholars to observe and assess scholar behavior
  • Meeting with families and school staff to discuss the scholar’s behavior intervention plan and progress and recommend ways to address behavioral issues
  • Helping scholars set and meet behavior goals
  • Keeping detailed notes of scholar progress
Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst required
  • Ability to demonstrate competence in behavior management skill, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills and interpersonal relations
  • Experience with diverse student populations strongly preferred
  • CPI Training preferred
