Job summary

Lakeville Area Schools ISD 194 is seeking a Kid Zone Instructor to develop, implement, and lead engaging activities for students in grades K-5. The role emphasizes safe, supportive, and inspiring environments and requires strong communication and teamwork with staff and families.

The position involves creating age-appropriate curricula, hands-on enrichment, and meaningful field trips while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service for all participants.

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. in Elementary Education (preferred).
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (required).
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in high-volume outdoor settings and weather conditions.
• Proficient in computer use.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and lead age-appropriate school-age care activities for K-5.
• Create theme-based curriculum aligned with Minnesota School Age Indicators of Progress.
• Provide high standard of customer service and solve problems for participants.
• Supervise groups in classrooms, cafeterias, gyms, playgrounds, and during field trips.

As a Kid Zone Instructor, you will develop, implement, and lead engaging activities for students in grades K-5. This role provides the opportunity to create exciting learning experiences, build strong relationships, and ensure students are safe, supported, and inspired every day.

Your Role Will Include

• Assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of school-age care and enrichment activities, programs, and services for children grades K-5.
• Creating and implementing age-appropriate, theme-based curriculum that aligns with the Minnesota School Age Indicators of Progress.
• Providing a high standard of customer service—serving as the primary contact for program-specific needs, problem solving, conflict resolution, and ensuring accommodations for all participants.
• Working directly with both large and small groups of children in a variety of settings, including classrooms, cafeterias, gyms, playgrounds, and during field trips.

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. Degree in Elementary Education. (Preferred).
• Current CPR and First Aid certification. (Required).
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in high-volume settings and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficient in computer use.

Salary And Benefits

• $26.57 - $29.92 per hour, depending on education and experience.
• Personal time, sick time and paid holidays.
• Full benefits for employees working 30+ hours per week.
• 183 days plus Field Trip days

• Highview Elementary, Split Shift 6:15 - 10:00 am & 3:30 - 6:00 pm
