Job summary

UCP of Central Florida is seeking an Aftercare Team Member to support the after-school program at our Orlando locations. The role focuses on supervising children, guiding activities, and ensuring safety in group and individual settings.

You will read stories, facilitate play, and help with basic care tasks while complying with state and federal guidelines. The position emphasizes teamwork, activity preparation, and maintaining a clean learning environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (minimum)
• CDA or AA in Early Childhood or related field preferred
• Minimum 1 year working with children birth through age 8 in educational or recreational setting

Responsibilities

• Follow directions given by the Enrichment Program Manager
• Monitor/assist children during large group, small group and individual instruction
• Actively facilitate cognitive, behavioral and social growth of children
• Provide basic caregiving duties (universal health and safety precautions) including diapers, feeding, washing hands
• Assist in ensuring compliance with UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, DCF and other agencies
• Engage with children during activities by reading stories and facilitating play
• Wash hands as needed per UCP policy
• Carry out daily/weekly housekeeping in classrooms (sweeping, tables, waste disposal, washing/sterilizing toys and dishes)
• Prepare materials for activities
• Maintain positive interactions with team members and students
• Perform other duties as assigned
