Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties in Lakewood, WA, is seeking a Before and After School Teacher to support the year-round childcare program. You will promote safety, academic growth, and YMCA core values while fostering a fun, inclusive environment for children.

Wages range from $18.03 to $20.22 per hour, with a part-time schedule (6:00 am–9:00 am and 3:00 pm–6:00 pm) at Clover Park School District locations, and YMCA benefits including membership and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience with children in childcare.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid, STARS, and food handlers as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive relations with members and parents.
• Support academic goals and plans for attending children.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper equipment upkeep.
• Follow DCYF/WA licensing guidelines and document records.
• Participate in family nights, trainings, and program activities.
