Job summary

Orono Public Schools is seeking a Spartan Kids School Year Program Staff member to support before and after school care for Kindergarten through 5th grade. Responsibilities include planning activities, supervising children, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

Hours are Monday to Friday with morning and afternoon shifts; additional hours available on non-school days. Experience with school-age children and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Fun, nurturing and caring demeanor.
• Highly organized and flexible; able to adapt to varying tasks.
• Experience in child care is appreciated; understanding needs of school-age children.
• Two years in related field (education/child development) preferred.
• First-aid and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging activities for school-age children.
• Supervise Kindergarten-5th grade; ensure safety and positive environment.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere for students and families; build community.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards; sanitize and organize materials.
• Set clear rules and expectations for behavior; promote inclusivity.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
