Job summary

Inver Grove Heights Community Schools is seeking a part-time Spartan Kids Care Paraprofessional to provide after-school, non-school days, and summer care for school-age children across Hilltop, Pine Bend, and Salem Hills Elementary.

The incumbent will open/close the site, assist with curriculum planning, maintain behavior standards, complete reports, and coordinate with the lead facilitator. Shifts are 2:15–6:00 pm Monday to Friday, with additional hours on non-school days.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the site as needed.
• Assisting with completing the site cross-off sheet.
• Assisting in planning program curriculum and activities for school year, summer and non-school days.
• Maintaining and upholding the behavior standards of the program.
• Completing necessary reports and discussing with lead/facilitator; making appropriate phone calls as needed.
• Daily site clean up and set up.
• Reading and initialing site communication book daily.
• Recording time worked in the log book and time sheet.
• Following staff and program guidelines per handbook and district policies.
• Performing other duties as requested by Director of Community Education and Superintendent of Schools.

This position works in the Spartan Kids' Care Program which operates year round in each of the elementary school buildings before and after school, on non-school days and during the summer for children in grades K-5. Programming is based on age-appropriate, multi-cultural themed, student driven activities. Current shift needs are for individuals who can work 2:15-6:00pm Monday to Friday and all day on non-school days.
