Job summary

Spartan Kids, part of Orono Public Schools, is hiring staff for mornings and afternoons to engage Kindergarten–5th grade students in safe, fun activities. Shifts run 7:00–9:00 AM and 3:30–5:45 PM, with extra hours on non-school days.

Pay ranges from $13.65 to $18.50 per hour, Monday–Friday, and offers Earned Sick and Safe Time and PERA benefits. This role supports kids’ social and emotional growth in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Fun, nurturing personality and love for working with kids.
• Punctuality, reliability and flexibility.
• Experience with kids ages 5–12; First Aid/CPR certification and child care or education experience are a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, choice-based activities — games, art, and play that help kids grow socially and emotionally
• Supervise and build positive relationships with K–5 students, keeping the environment safe, respectful, and inclusive
• Be a warm, welcoming face for kids and families every day
