Job summary

North Star Montessori Academy is seeking a dedicated care worker for before and after school care. You will plan and lead daily activities, ensure a safe, positive environment, and support children and parents with high-quality experiences.

Responsibilities include supervising children, arranging age-appropriate activities, assisting with homework, and communicating progress to parents. Requires CPR/First Aid, 18+ years old, and a background check. Part-time hours align with school schedule.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in childcare or early education settings.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a group of children effectively.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
• Patience and creativity in engaging children.
• Familiarity with safety and emergency procedures.
• Background in education or related fields.
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during before and after school hours to ensure their safety.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and educational programs.
• Assist with homework and educational support.
• Organize outdoor and indoor play activities.
• Prepare and serve snacks according to dietary guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with parents about progress and concerns.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Monitor and address behavioral issues among children.
• Administer first aid and handle emergencies as needed.
• Encourage positive social interactions and teamwork among children.
• Record attendance and monitor pick-up/drop-off procedures.
• Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and organizational policies.
