Job summary

Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges is seeking a part-time program facilitator for before/after school care, starting September 2026 and ending June 2026. The role focuses on safety, supervision, and engaging activities for children.

Responsibilities include attendance, sign-in/out, behavior management, curriculum planning, and collaboration with staff. The compensation ranges from $19.50 to $26.10 per hour, with benefits listed. This is an on-site position at our Y program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required, college credits/degree preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with staff, parents, and school staff.
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions aligned with YMCA mission.
• 1-3 years supervisory experience.
• 1-3 years working with children in before/after-school programs.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required.
• Experience adhering to licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and thorough attendance of all students and staff each day.
• Ensure the safety of all children enrolled in the program by following supervision standards.
• Ensure only authorized sign-in/sign-out by parent/guardian or emergency contact.
• Follow YMCA protocols for First-Aid and emergency situations; complete paperwork.
• Use positive group management techniques; address behavior issues per policy.
• Coach, guide and manage day-to-day duties of group leaders/assistants.
• Oversee daily activities including leading activities, snack, homework support, supervision, cleanup.
• Ensure staff behave as positive role models; maintain professional conduct.
• Provide input/feedback for group leaders during performance reviews.
• Plan weekly curriculum with quality activities, nutrition education, STEAM, and SEL.
