Job summary

River Valley Regional YMCA is seeking a School Age Site Supervisor to lead a before/after school program in a local elementary school. You will manage a designated room, supervise staff, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for school-age children.

You will plan activities, communicate with parents and school personnel, and maintain accurate attendance and meal records. The role may be nine-month or three-month summer work, with options to do both.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• CPR, First Aid, AED within 30 days of hire.
• Experience supervising adults and coordinating staff schedules.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate developmentally appropriate activities.
• Commitment to safety and DHS licensing guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program using the YMCA curriculum.
• Prepare weekly lesson plans and document learning standards.
• Supervise assistant teachers and maintain open communication with parents and school staff.
• Organize monthly newsletters, conferences, and regular parent updates.
• Ensure safety, discipline, and positive interactions with children at all times.
• Coordinate entry/exit, meals, attendance, and health checks following CACFP guidelines.
