Job summary

W. Lee Flowers is seeking a Beer Den/Wine Clerk to engage guests, educate them on beer and wine, and guide purchases to enhance loyalty and profitability.

You will maintain displays, assist with pricing and product selection, and uphold strict sanitation standards in the Beer Den/Sunmill Wines. The role requires strong guest service, reliable teamwork, and the ability to lift heavy growlers while following state alcohol laws.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of beer and wine
• Familiar with ALE laws governing sale and purchase of beer and wine
• Sales oriented with strong guest service and selling skills
• Friendly, outgoing personality with good communication
• Self-motivated, trustworthy and compliant with guidelines
• Ability to collaborate effectively with others
• Ability to read and follow information and directions
• Strong communication with Store Manager, DSD Receiver and vendors
• Physical ability to bend, kneel, stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift 30lbs regularly and 50lbs occasionally
• Must be at least 21 years old

Responsibilities

• Educate guests on beer and wine attributes and guide their specific needs
• Ensure marketing materials, signage, prices, and flyers are displayed and maintained
• Maintain sanitation and appearance of the Beer Den/Sunmill Wines
• Collaborate with category managers and suppliers to ensure correct pricing and selection
• Train fellow Beer Den/Wine clerks and ensure information is accurate
• Conduct tastings and in-store demos or promotions as needed
• Follow state laws governing sampling, sale and purchase of beer and wine
• Wash and prepare growlers per established practices
• Fill growlers per filling, sealing, and labeling standards
• Maintain inventory of growlers, glassware, lids and supplies
• Announce specials and sale information on PA system
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
