Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a Beverage Clerk to educate guests on beer and wine, provide personalized service, and maintain the Beer Den and Sunmill Wines areas. You will work with managers and vendors to ensure accurate pricing, display and product availability, while training other clerks and conducting tastings and in-store demos.

The role requires the ability to lift and handle growlers, stand for extended periods, and comply with ALE laws governing beer and wine.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ALE laws governing beer and wine sales.
• Friendly and sales-minded with strong guest service abilities.
• Able to read and understand information and follow directions.
• Able to communicate effectively with Store Manager, DSD Receiver and vendors.
• Capable of bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Educate guests on beer and wine attributes and guide their selections.
• Ensure marketing materials, signage, prices, and flyers are displayed and maintained.
• Maintain sanitation and appearance of the Beer Den and wine areas.
• Collaborate with category managers and suppliers on pricing and product selection.
• Train fellow Beverage clerks and keep information current for hosts in Beer Den, Sunmill Wines and Box Car.
• Conduct tastings and in-store demos or promotions as needed.
• Follow state laws governing sampling, sale and purchase of beer and wine.
• Wash and prepare growlers and fill growlers per established standards.
• Maintain inventory of growlers, glasses, lids, and supplies.
• Announce specials and sale information on the PA system.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
