Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a Beer Den/Wine Clerk to educate guests on beer and wine, maintain displays, and ensure compliance with state laws. The role involves tastings, trainings for fellow clerks, and assisting guests with product selections in the Beer Den and Sunmill Wines.

The position requires ability to lift and move supplies, stand for extended periods, and work well with others. Prior knowledge of beer and wine and familiarity with ALE regulations are preferred.

Qualifications

• Working understanding of beer and wine.
• Familiar with ALE laws governing sale and purchasing of beer and wine products.

• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Ability to effectively communicate with Store Manager, DSD Receiver and vendors.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift 30lbs. consistently and 50lbs. occasionally.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Educate guests on beer and wine attributes and provide guidance for specific needs/preferences.
• Ensure marketing and brand materials and tools are properly displayed, maintained and utilized including signage, prices, flyers, etc.
• Maintain the sanitation and appearance of the Beer Den/Sunmill Wines.
• Work with category managers and suppliers to ensure proper pricing and product selection.
• Train other Beer Den/Wine clerks and ensure information is correct and available for all hosts who work in the Beer Den/Sunmill Wines.
• Conduct tastings as needed in the Beer Den/Sunmill Wines as well as for in-store demos or promotions.
• Follow all state laws governing the sampling, sale and purchasing of beer and wine.
• Wash and prepare growlers according to established practices.
• Fill growlers upon request by the guest according to established filling, sealing and labeling standards.
• Maintain inventory of growlers, glass, lids and all other Beer Den and wine supplies through monitoring and ordering.
• Announce specials and sale information on the PA system.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
