Job summary

W. Lee Flowers is seeking a Beer Den/Wine Clerk to educate guests on beer and wine attributes, maintain displays, and ensure a high standard of guest service. This role includes tastings, store promotions, and adherence to state alcohol laws within the West Columbia location.

The ideal candidate has strong sales skills, a friendly personality, and the ability to work well with others, management, and vendors. 21+ with physical stamina for active duties is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of beer and wine products and attributes.
• Familiarity with state ALE laws governing sale and purchase.
• Sales minded with strong guest service and selling skills.
• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Self-motivated and trustworthy; adheres to guidelines.
• Ability to work well with others and in a team.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Effective communication with store management and vendors.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Educate guests on product attributes and guide selections.
• Ensure proper display and use of marketing materials.
• Maintain sanitation and appearance of the Beer Den/Wine area.
• Coordinate with category managers for pricing and selection.
• Train other clerks and ensure information is available to hosts.
• Conduct tastings and in-store demos as needed.
• Follow state laws governing sampling, sale and purchasing.
• Wash and prepare growlers and fill per standards.
• Track and replenish growlers, glassware, and supplies.
• Announce specials and sales information on PA system.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
