Job summary

Beechwood Sales and Service in Madison, WI is hiring a Full Time Sales Trainee. This hands-on role provides valuable knowledge in beverage distribution, sales, and retail execution across Dane, Rock, Jefferson, and Sauk Counties.

Trainees are mentored to become proficient in sales routes, merchandising, and customer relations while contributing to volume growth across our portfolio. A bachelor’s degree is preferred; strong work ethic, self-motivation, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with an emphasis in a business or marketing related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
• Enthusiastic, high energy, and self-motivated.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• Knowledge of alcoholic beverage regulations and Beechwood portfolio.
• Sales and customer service experience required.
• Must lift and place cases weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing sales team support for sale, distribution, and placement of Beechwood brands.
• Develop and maintain effective customer relations and promote goodwill.
• Train, learn, and apply key strategic selling skills for future route work.
• Showcase selling skills in sales route relief work as needed.
• Merchandise accounts with engaging displays and signage.
• Ensure product rotation and code policy compliance.
• Coordinate and build floor displays at key accounts.
• Assist with customer inquiries about our portfolio and policies.
• Maintain a regular schedule of weekly appointments with accounts.
• Support brands and staff at supplier events or promotions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Beechwood Sales & Service is hiring a Full Time Sales Trainee in Madison, WI ! This position is a hands-on role that will provide you valuable knowledge and experience in the beverage and distribution industry. Sales Trainee ensure the successful sale, distribution, and retail execution of Beechwood products and related programs resulting in the overall volume growth within the assigned territories of Greater Madison Area, including Dane, Rock, Jefferson, and Sauk Counties.

Sales Trainees are developed and mentored to become familiar with the various roles of sales & operations within our growing company. We are looking for an energetic individual with a strong work ethic and a strong sense of responsibility to join and contribute to our team. We like to consider ourselves as the "beer half-full" kind of people.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ongoing sales team support for sale, distribution, and placement of all award-winning Beechwood Craft, Import, NA, Seltzer, and Spirit Brands.
• Develop and maintain effective customer relations and promote the good will of the company
• Train, learn, and apply key strategic selling skills in preparation for future sales route work.
• Showcase learned selling skills in sales route relief work as needed
• Learn proper merchandising of select accounts and key Craft brands with engaging promotional design and signage in concert with fellow sales team direction and collaboration.
• Ensure that all product is rotated and code policy is followed
• Coordinate and build exciting and engaging floor displays at select key accounts
• Assist with customer inquiries regarding our extensive portfolio as well as company policies
• Maintain a regular schedule of weekly appointments with accounts in assigned area
• Support our key brands and fellow staff at supplier events or bar promotions as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Critical Physical Demands:

• Use of hand and foot controls for driving
• Walking and climbing stairs
• Two handed lifting, handling and carrying of cases from floor to overhead levels on a frequent basis.
• Pushing and pulling a hand truck and/or cart on level and inclined surfaces on a frequent basis
• Sustained squatting, kneeling, and/or bending while handling products
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate business equipment including, but not limited to, computer, telephone, adding machine

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with an emphasis in a business or marketing related field

• Superior organization skills with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
• Computer proficiency, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
• Knowledge of legal requirements regarding the sale and the delivery of alcoholic beverages
• Knowledge of Beechwood’s beer portfolio
• Sales and customer service experience required
• Must be able to lift, move and place cases of product weighing up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
