Job summary

Beechwood Sales & Service in Madison, WI is hiring a Full Time Sales Trainee to gain hands-on experience in beverage distribution. The role covers sales, distribution, and retail execution across the Greater Madison Area, including Dane, Rock, Jefferson, and Sauk Counties.

We seek an energetic, responsible individual with strong work ethic. You will be mentored to understand sales and operations, with opportunities for growth and advancement within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Support the sales team in sale, distribution, and placement of Beechwood products.

• Learn and apply key strategic selling skills for future sales routes.
• Assist with merchandising and promotions at key accounts.
• Maintain weekly appointments with accounts in the assigned area.
• Participate in supplier events or bar promotions as needed.

Beechwood Sales & Service is hiring a Full Time Sales Trainee in Madison, WI ! This position is a hands-on role that will provide you valuable knowledge and experience in the beverage and distribution industry. Sales Trainee ensure the successful sale, distribution, and retail execution of Beechwood products and related programs resulting in the overall volume growth within the assigned territories of Greater Madison Area, including Dane, Rock, Jefferson, and Sauk Counties.

Sales Trainees are developed and mentored to become familiar with the various roles of sales & operations within our growing company. We are looking for an energetic individual with a strong work ethic and a strong sense of responsibility to join and contribute to our team. We like to consider ourselves as the "beer half-full" kind of people.

Essential Job Functions

• Ongoing sales team support for sale, distribution, and placement of all award-winning Beechwood Craft, Import, NA, Seltzer, and Spirit Brands.
• Develop and maintain effective customer relations and promote the good will of the company
• Train, learn, and apply key strategic selling skills in preparation for future sales route work.
• Showcase learned selling skills in sales route relief work as needed
• Learn proper merchandising of select accounts and key Craft brands with engaging promotional design and signage in concert with fellow sales team direction and collaboration.
• Ensure that all product is rotated and code policy is followed
• Coordinate and build exciting and engaging floor displays at select key accounts
• Assist with customer inquiries regarding our extensive portfolio as well as company policies
• Maintain a regular schedule of weekly appointments with accounts in assigned area
• Support our key brands and fellow staff at supplier events or bar promotions as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Critical Physical Demands

• Use of hand and foot controls for driving
• Walking and climbing stairs
• Two handed lifting, handling and carrying of cases from floor to overhead levels on a frequent basis.
• Pushing and pulling a hand truck and/or cart on level and inclined surfaces on a frequent basis
• Sustained squatting, kneeling, and/or bending while handling products
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate business equipment including, but not limited to, computer, telephone, adding machine

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with an emphasis in a business or marketing related field
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a team
• Enthusiastic, high energy, and self-motivated individual with a desire to succeed
• Superior organization skills with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
• Computer proficiency, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
• Knowledge of legal requirements regarding the sale and the delivery of alcoholic beverages
• Knowledge of Beechwood’s beer portfolio
• Sales and customer service experience required
• Must be able to lift, move and place cases of product weighing up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
