Job summary
Southall Farm & Inn in Franklin, TN is seeking a Pollination Team Member who blends beekeeping, agriculture, and guest engagement to create meaningful visitor experiences. You will manage and feed beehives, assist in bee and honey experiences, handle honey extraction and packaging, perform pest treatments, woodwork, and share pollinator stories with guests.
This role requires physical fitness, ability to lift 40 lbs, valid driver's license, and weekend availability; Apprentice Beekeeping
Qualifications
- Ability to lift 40 lbs to waist height and work in extreme heat/cold.
- Comfort around venomous insects for long periods.
- Ability to lift, squat, stoop and twist.
- Beekeeping experience preferred but not required.
- No known allergy to bee stings beyond normal reactions.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Must attain Apprentice Level beekeeping certification online within 1 year.
- Valid Driver’s license required.
Responsibilities
- Manage and feed beehives
- Assist in the facilitation of bee and honey experiences
- Complete honey extraction, bottling and packaging
- Apply pest treatment applications
- Perform woodworking
- Engage in public appearances regarding pollinators and property tours
- Other duties as assigned by Southall leadership
