Job summary

Andes Global Trading seeks a Beef Purchasing Lead to drive sourcing strategies for beef across USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and more. You will manage supplier relationships, analyze markets, and support pricing and inventory decisions in a fast-moving commodity environment.

The role requires strong negotiation, leadership, and travel to supplier sites and trade shows. Join a hands-on, entrepreneurial team within Andes’ expanding beef program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience in beef.
• Strong knowledge of beef industry, pricing dynamics and market trends across multiple origins.
• Experience with supplier relationship management and contract discussions.
• Excellent communication, analytical and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel for supplier visits and industry trade shows.
• Experience with ERP systems and data tools for procurement analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of beef suppliers.
• Build relationships with packers, processors, exporters, brokers, and distributors.
• Identify new sourcing opportunities and supplier diversification.
• Execute purchasing transactions and coordinate offers with trading and sales teams.
• Monitor inventory positioning and optimize purchasing decisions.
• Support pricing strategies with market insights and supplier performance.
• Mentor Purchasing Specialists and train sales teams on beef product knowledge.
