Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, Idaho, seeks a Full-Time Bed Control Nurse to coordinate patient admissions (elective and emergent) and transfers in alignment with clinical standards. The role requires an RN license with acute/critical care experience and strong communication with physicians and transport teams.

You will work three 12-hour days in the 1pm–1am shift, with support from a close-knit team and opportunities for sign-on and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• RN license required; multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire.
• All colleagues must provide licensure or proof of application for an Oregon RN license within 90 days of hire date.
• Acute care, critical care, or medical-surgical experience required.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• A minimum of two years RN experience; BLS required; ACLS/PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS.
• Other certifications may be identified in SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate placement of all patient admissions and transfers to appropriate beds.
• Coordinate with physicians for outside consults and arrange inter-facility transport.
• Communicate with ED, managers, charge nurses and coordinators to ensure adequate staffing for admissions.
• Utilize Forefront and Central Logic systems for physician searches and paging.
• Participate in bed briefings and surge meetings; monitor capacity and coordinate interventions.
• Facilitate movement of beds with transport, PACU, and inpatient units; document calls in Forefront.
