Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Bed Control Nurse to coordinate patient admissions and transfers in Boise, Idaho. The role includes ensuring patients are admitted to the most appropriate bed, coordinating physician consults, and arranging transport with Life Flight.

The position features a rotating night shift (630pm–630am) with four days off weekly. Qualified candidates will hold an RN license with 2+ years of RN experience, BLS, and may have ACLS/PALS.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Multistate licenses must establish Idaho residency within 60 days of hire.
• All colleagues must provide licensure or proof of application for Oregon RN license within 90 days of hire.
• Acute care, critical care, or MS experience required.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• Minimum of two years RN experience; BLS required; ACLS/PALS may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate placement of admissions and transfers to the most appropriate beds.
• Contact physicians for consults and coordinate transport with Life Flight and robotic consults.
• Communicate with ED staff to facilitate timely admissions and bed turnover.
• Monitor bed capacity and assist surge/occupancy management.
• Enter calls into Forefront and coordinate inter-facility transfers.
