Job summary

The Boca Raton is seeking a Room & Housekeeping Supervisor to train and supervise attendants, ensuring all rooms, suites and public areas meet hotel standards. You will visually inspect rooms and prepare status reports for management.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 1–2 years of housekeeping supervisory experience (4+ years in housekeeping preferred). Fluent English required; Spanish is a plus. Must be physically able to lift and move equipment.

Responsibilities

• Train and supervise Room & House Attendants to ensure rooms/suites and public areas are cleaned to hotel standards.
• Visually inspect rooms/suites and complete reports; verify status reports.
• Report clean suites to hotel front desk and load into property management systems.
• Coordinate room assignments and monitor payroll and schedules.
• Maintain stock rooms and carts with proper supplies.

Job description

The ideal candidate trains and supervises Room & House Attendants to ensure all rooms/suites and public areas are cleaned and comply with hotel standards. Visually inspects rooms/suites.

Essential Functions

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

• Inspect rooms, complete reports, verify status reports.
• Report clean suites to hotel front desk and or load into automated property management systems.
• Check rooms inventory, assign rooms to room/suite attendants.
• Monitor payroll reports and work schedules.
• Monitor lost and found program.
• Ensure stock rooms and carts are maintained with proper supplies.

Supportive Functions

• Provide customer service to guests (internally/externally), including information about hotel services, activities, and local attractions.
• Promote team member loyalty and empowerment.
• Communicate and coordinate with Engineering/Property Operations the repair and maintenance program as related to guestrooms and public areas.

Internal Relationships

Reports to the Director of Housekeeping, Assistant Director of Housekeeping & Housekeeping Manager

External Relationships

Has regular contact with Guests and other Housekeeping Associates.

Qualifications

• Read, write and speak English fluently. Knowledge of other languages, especially Spanish is a plus.
• Knowledge of inventories, scheduling and productivity.
• High school math level required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members verbally and in written form.
• Ability to inspect multiple rooms per day.
• Ability to clean rooms, when needed.
• Physically able to move and / or operate large objects, such as: room attendant’s carts, suite furniture, large bags of linen, vacuum cleaners and boxes of inventory.
• Ability to follow and enforce all hotel standards, including safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations.
• Knowledge of and ability to operate computer.

Education/Experience Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• 1-2 years housekeeping supervisory experience in hotel preferred. 4 or more year’s hotel housekeeping experience.

Physical Requirements

Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. It requires walking or standing to a significant degree, as well as reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
