Job summary

Hartz is seeking a Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Engineer to lead enterprise-wide continuity and recovery initiatives. This hybrid role located in Secaucus, NJ focuses on strategy, testing, and execution across Windows/Linux, cloud, and storage.

You will optimize backup/recovery, participate in cybersecurity teamwork, and ensure readiness for disruptions with strong incident response collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field with 7+ years of professional experience; or 10+ years of combined professional experience including education, certifications, and training in lieu of degree
• Strong knowledge of networking, distributed systems, and enterprise infrastructure concepts
• Disaster recovery planning, testing, backup and restoration, data replication, archiving, and recovery of enterprise systems (Veeam backup software)
• Linux administration: experience administering, supporting, and troubleshooting Linux systems
• Incident Response & Support: ability to respond promptly to outages, on-site and remotely

Responsibilities

• Lead and evolve the enterprise-wide business continuity and disaster recovery program
• Develop, test, and execute disaster recovery plans and recovery documentation
• Oversee backup, data archiving, redundancy, tape storage, and restoration
• Perform regular disaster recovery simulations to identify gaps and validate processes
• Maintain servers, networks, databases to ensure resilience during disruptions
• Be a key member of the IT disaster recovery team and guide recovery procedures
• Support security protocols and align with policies and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with cybersecurity to manage vulnerabilities and incident response
