Job summary

Haverhill Public Schools seeks a BCBA to provide district-wide behavioral support for preschool students. You will deliver direct and consultative ABA services in inclusion and self-contained settings, guided by data and collaborative planning with school teams.

You will develop SBTs, PFAs, and BIPs, train staff, and coordinate with SLPs, OTs, and PTs to support the whole child. A Master’s in ABA or related field and BCBA certification are required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in ABA or related field and BCBA certification.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; ability to train others on interventions.
  • Experience with PFA and Skill-Based Treatment preferred.
  • Experience with preschool-age children in early childhood special education preferred.
  • Familiarity with ACE (Autism Encyclopedia Curriculum) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Practical Functional Assessments (PFAs) to identify function of behavior.
  • Develop and implement Skill-Based Treatment (SBT).
  • Support skill acquisition programs targeting communication, social, adaptive, and pre‑academic skills using ABA strategies.
  • Develop BIPs informed by assessments; monitor and adjust based on data.
  • Coach classroom staff on SBT, skill acquisition, and BIPs.
  • Analyze classroom data to evaluate intervention effectiveness and adjust as needed.
  • Collaborate with SLPs, OTs, PTs, and other specialists to support whole-child outcomes.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute behavioral data for goals and placements.
  • Address behavioral difficulties and provide crisis support as needed.
  • Communicate with families about goals and progress.
  • Create visuals, materials, and structured supports for BIPs and skill programs.

Salary: To be negotiated depending on education and experience

Range of $80,000 to $90,000

Statement of Duties:

  • Ensure the delivery of direct and/or consultation of Applied Behavior Analytic services to preschool students in inclusion and substantially separate settings.
  • Practical Functional Assessments (PFAs) as needed to identify the function of problem behavior.
  • Develop and implement Skill-Based Treatment (SBT).
  • Support individualized skill acquisition programs targeting communication, social, adaptive, and pre-academic skills using evidence-based ABA strategies.
  • Develop appropriate Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) informed by assessment results; monitor and modify plans based on ongoing data review.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training to classroom staff on the implementation of SBT, skill acquisition programming, and BIPs.
  • Analyze data collected by classroom staff to evaluate intervention effectiveness and adjust programming as needed.
  • Provide interdisciplinary team consultation, collaborating with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other specialists to support whole-child outcomes.
  • Participate in IEP team meetings and contribute behavioral and skill-based assessment data to support goal development and placement decisions.
  • Address behavioral difficulties and provide crisis support as needed for identified students.
  • Ensure appropriate communication with families regarding behavioral programming, skill acquisition goals, and student progress.
  • Assist in creating visuals, materials, and structured supports necessary for BIPs and skill acquisition programs.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced in a school setting and able to work in a team environment. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, be flexible, able to pay attention to the overall environment and specific details, and must be able to independently identify, implement, and train others on effective behavior interventions.
  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field.
  • BCBA Certification.
  • Experience with Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill-Based Treatment (SBT) preferred.
  • Experience working with preschool-age children in early childhood special education settings preferred.
  • Previous experience conducting behavior assessments and developing behavior intervention plans.
  • Familiarity with ACE (Autism Encyclopedia Curriculum) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual Preferred.
