Job summary

The Bellevue School District is seeking a Certified Behavior Specialist to support elementary and secondary students with behavior intervention plans. The role focuses on planning, directing and implementing interventions, data-driven planning, and collaboration with staff to promote student independence.

This 1.0 FTE position requires BCBA licensure in Washington and experience with behavioral and instructional strategies.

Qualifications

• The candidate must possess or qualify for immediate issuance of a valid ESA Washington State BCBA certification.
• Experience with behavioral and instructional strategies and training is preferred.
• Substitution: clinical experience may substitute for minimum required experience.

Responsibilities

• Make recommendations to staff supporting individualized behavior.
• Use data to plan, supervise, evaluate and revise behavior programs.
• Plan and provide in-service training for parents and staff.
• Provide input for IEPs and re-evaluations.
• Conduct functional assessments and analyze learning environments.
• Develop, facilitate, implement and follow up on training in behavior analysis.
• Keep current with literature and resources in the field.
• Collaborate with school staff to implement behavior plans to boost student independence.
• Ensure materials and information meet instructional and behavior needs.
• Maintain responsive communication with students, families, staff and community.
• Lead and collaborate within the district’s special education program.
