Job summary

Gotion Inc. in Fremont, CA seeks a Solution Engineer – Battery Energy Storage Systems to join the U.S. Solution Engineering team.

You will develop safe, reliable BESS solutions and support customers, sales, and cross-functional teams in a highly collaborative environment. The role requires a strong electrical/energy background, hands-on design experience, and the ability to work with international teams. On-site in Manteno, Illinois travel up to 20% may be required, with a competitive benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Two or more years of relevant engineering experience in battery energy storage, renewable energy, electrical power systems, power electronics, manufacturing, or related industries.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, power converters, protection systems, and single-line diagrams.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site at the Manteno, Illinois facility.
• Willingness to travel up to approximately 20%, depending on project and customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of technical solutions for utility-scale and C&I battery energy storage projects.
• Perform preliminary battery, power conversion system sizing, and balance-of-plant assessments.
• Prepare preliminary system configurations, equipment lists, and single-line diagrams.
• Assist with technical proposals, compliance matrices, and technical clarifications.
• Support the sales team during customer discussions and proposal development.
• Coordinate with engineering, sales, manufacturing, project management, and product development teams.
• Participate in design reviews, factory acceptance tests, and site acceptance tests.
