Job summary

Arc seeks an Electrical Systems Engineer to own the design, build, and integration of electrical systems on our commercial vessels. You will work with a lean team, taking ownership and delivering details with discipline.

This full‑time, on‑site role is based at our Los Angeles headquarters, reporting to the Manager, Commercial Systems Engineering, with a focus on hardware/software harmony and field readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
  • 7+ years in electrical systems integration, hardware development, or system engineering.
  • Strong HV/LV knowledge, power distribution, sensors, actuators.
  • Experience with CAN/J1939, Modbus, Profinet, EtherCAT.
  • Hands-on debugging HV/LV systems using meters and scopes.
  • Experience writing system requirements and interface docs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ownership mindset.
  • ITAR compliance and U.S. person status may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Owning design and integration of high and low voltage electrical systems for commercial vessels.
  • Developing electrical topologies, I/O maps, and wiring definitions.
  • Write functional specs and align HW with control software.
  • Lead hardware trade studies and supplier evaluation.
  • Hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and debugging HV/LV systems.
  • Support sea trials to validate systems and parity with bench tests.
  • Interface with suppliers, shipyards, and vessel operators; travel 10–15%.
