Job summary

The Battery Innovation Center (BIC) is seeking a qualified Laboratory Technician to join our Advanced Battery Manufacturing Lab. You will fabricate and test prototype cells, assemble components, and support facility maintenance and vendor coordination for building upkeep.

The role involves working in a dry lab (<1% humidity) and collaborating with customers on cell development projects. Ideal candidates hold an engineering/technical degree with 0–2 years in manufacturing or lab environments and

Qualifications

Requires an engineering or technical degree or equivalent experience.
0-2 years of related manufacturing or lab experience preferred.
Battery research lab/manufacturing exposure preferred.
Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries and basic electrochemistry is desired.

Responsibilities

Assemble and test prototype cells from CR2032 coin cells to pouch and 18650 cells.
Generate documentation or technical reports for projects.
Work with advanced materials (carbons, polymers, metal oxides, electrolytes, additives).
Fabricate advanced composite electrodes from raw materials (powder processing, mixing, coating).
Interact with customers on ongoing cell development projects as part of the BIC team.
