Job summary

Sila is seeking a Technician in the Battery Operations group to convert materials into lithium-ion battery concepts by assembling and testing prototype batteries. You will be part of a team that values ownership, attention to detail, and a passion for achieving team goals.

You will prepare chemical mixtures, assemble batteries, and follow SOPs while continuously improving processes. A 12-hour shift rotation supports 12 hr/7 day operations, with overtime possible.

Qualifications

• Ability to work carefully and safely with materials and equipment.
• Team-oriented with capability to work independently.
• History of completing tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment and computer operation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and characterize chemical mixtures and materials for lithium-ion batteries.
• Assemble lithium-ion batteries and test them on battery cyclers with heated chambers.
• Fabricate mechanical fixtures, perform preventative maintenance, and manage cables.
• Follow SOPs while seeking ways to improve processes and operations.
• Wear PPE including a full respirator and accurately log data in an online system.
• Manage inventory and maintain a tidy, efficient workspace.
• Collaborate with Technicians, Researchers, Engineers and Scientists.
