Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a full-time outside sales Account Manager to build repeat business and open new accounts. This on-site role offers uncapped commissions and bonus opportunities within a leading industrial distributor.

The successful candidate will develop relationships across maintenance, engineering and purchasing, meet sales and profit goals, and present solutions and services to customers in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year outside sales experience OR 2+ yrs customer service / inside sales experience in industrial distribution OR maintenance / tool crib experience
• Ability to develop new business and build repeat customer relationships
• Mechanical aptitude and self-starter with a sense of humor
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record (MVR)
• This position is on site in Baton Rouge, LA and authorized to work in the US

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales and profit goals by developing and retaining existing customers and by opening new business
• Conduct sales and service activities, develop ongoing relationships, identify product applications, and introduce new products and services
• Prepare quotations and proposals, follow up, negotiate terms, and close transactions
• Organize and conduct training sessions for customers
• Survey market and competitive conditions
• Complete reports regarding itineraries, expenses, sales calls, leads, and other related matters
• Monitor customer complaints, follow up on outstanding orders, and make emergency calls as required
