Job summary

Renishaw is seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of the Batch Portal software in an Agile environment. You will craft reliable, scalable components aligned with product requirements.

Responsibilities include designing and maintaining batch processing components, translating requirements into code with peers, and upholding unit testing, reviews, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Experience with production-quality software in Java or similar.
• Understanding of OO design, data structures, and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with unit testing, Git, and CI practices.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
• Design, implement, and maintain batch processing components, scheduled jobs, and plugin-based extensions aligned to product roadmaps.
• Translate moderately complex product requirements into software designs and working code in collaboration with other engineers.
• Apply development best practices including unit testing, code reviews, documentation, and code quality standards.
• Complete moderately complex bug fixes and resolve technical issues through analysis and debugging.
• Operate in an Agile development environment while collaborating with product management, quality engineering, and operations stakeholders.
• Keep current with relevant technologies, tools, and architectural patterns related to batch processing, data pipelines, and extensible systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of product delivery and operational excellence.
