Job summary

RELX is seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications for the Batch Portal platform. This role operates in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities include designing batch processing components, translating requirements into working code with other engineers, and applying unit testing, reviews, and documentation standards. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with production‑quality software using Java or similar.
• Knowledge of OO design, data structures, and SDLC.
• Experience with unit testing, Git, and CI practices.
• Ability to work independently and with a development team.

Responsibilities

• Write and review portions of specifications for moderately complex components.
• Design, implement, and maintain batch processing components and plugins.
• Translate product requirements into designs and code with other engineers.
• Apply best practices: unit tests, reviews, documentation, code quality.
• Fix moderately complex bugs through analysis and debugging.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and operations in an Agile environment.
• Stay current with batch processing and data pipeline technologies.
• Perform other duties to support product delivery.
