Job summary

Gloucester County Public Schools seeks an assistant basketball coach for the Boys program at Peasley Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year.

The role focuses on teaching basketball skills and assisting with practice and games. A stipend of 1,584 USD will be paid at the end of March. Candidates must hold or obtain CPR/First Aid certification and complete concussion training, plus all onboarding requirements and background checks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of, experience in and ability to assist in teaching the skills of Basketball.
• CPR/First Aid Certification required or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist in teaching basketball skills and supporting boys' basketball program at Peasley Middle School.
• Support practice planning and game day activities; contribute to safe, positive athletic environment.

1. Supplement in the amount of 1,584
2. Supplement paid at the end of March.
3. Knowledge of, experience in and ability to assist in teaching the skills of Basketball.
4. Cover letter and resume optional but preferred and highly recommended.
5. Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification.
6. Must attend concussion training.
7. Satisfactory completion of all onboarding requirements prior to first day of employment, including, but not limited to:
   • Documentation of eligibility for employment in the U.S.
   • Virginia State Police/FBI Criminal |Background Check
   • Virginia Department of Social Services Background Check
   • Tuberculosis Screening
   • Child Abuse and Neglect training and Certificate
