Job summary

The St. Johns River Water Management District seeks an Advanced Professional to develop and manage basin-specific initiatives, prioritizing projects, designing processes, and delivering results through coordination and influence.

The role emphasizes collaboration, communication, and leadership to address water resources challenges across18 counties in northeast and east-central Florida, with a focus on flood protection, water quality, and natural systems.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in a natural or environmental science, water resources, engineering or related field and five years of professional environmental or water resources experience.
• A master’s degree can substitute for one year of required experience.
• A doctorate can substitute for two years of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops basin priorities and defines objectives for the assigned basin and coordinates with SJRWMD teams.
• Facilitates resources to deliver milestones and works with divisions on work plans, schedules, and monitoring.
• Presents to internal and external audiences, including the Governing Board and regional stakeholders, as required.
• Assists with development, implementation and management of scopes, budgets, and District documents for the assigned basin.
