Job summary

Oxford Area High School is seeking a Baseball Head Coach to lead and develop the high school program. The ideal candidate inspires student-athletes, promotes teamwork, and fosters a positive competitive environment on and off the field.

The coach will work with players, parents, and administration to enhance the baseball experience while ensuring program success across all activities and events.

Qualifications

• Prior coaching experience at high school level or higher.
• Strong knowledge of baseball techniques, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for games and events.
• Commitment to the academic success of student-athletes and the school mission.
• Bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports management, or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement practice plans, game strategies, and skill development programs for student-athletes.
• Organize and conduct tryouts, training sessions, and team meetings.
• Monitor and assess the performance and progress of players throughout the season.
• Foster a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth.
• Collaborate with assistant coaches and support staff to ensure effective coaching and player development.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding team expectations, schedules, and player progress.
• Coordinate team travel arrangements for away games.
• Ensure compliance with school policies, league and state rules.
• Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring safety and good condition.
• Promote the baseball program within the school and community.
