Job summary

Kansas City Christian School seeks a Head Baseball Coach to lead our baseball program in alignment with the school’s Character, Faith, and Knowledge philosophy. The role emphasizes safe, supportive leadership and building team camaraderie among players and staff.

The coach will oversee all aspects of the program, collaborate with middle school coaches, stay current with baseball trends, and encourage multi-sport participation while supporting student-athletes’ post-high-school goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Prior high school/college coaching experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the Baseball program and lead program strategy.
• Partner with middle school coaches to align philosophy and expectations across levels.
• Stay current on baseball trends, strategies, and best practices.
• Encourage multi-sport participation among student-athletes.
• Maintain inventory and upkeep of baseball equipment.
• Set practice and game schedules that respect academics and family commitments.
• Meet with parents to communicate expectations and provide updates on student-athlete progress.
• Support student-athletes in post-high-school athletic planning; collaborate with staff for best interests.

• Set practice and game time demands that respect the primacy of academics and family, communicating expectations clearly and in advance.
• Make time to meet with parents at mutually convenient times, consistent with the athletic department's communication guidelines.
• Support student-athletes'; post-high-school athletic planning when appropriate.
• Collaborate with school staff to advocate for student-athletes'; best interests.
• Work proactively with academically ineligible students to help them regain eligibility.
