Collier County Public Schools is seeking qualified individuals for supplemental Baseball Assistant Coach positions. Applicants must be 21 years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED.

The selection requires a current Florida Educator Certification or Athletic Coaching Certification; if the candidate already holds a teaching certificate, athletic coaching certification is not required. A Basic Life Support (First Aid, CPR, and AED) certification is also required.

The Florida Department of Education issues two types of Athletic Coaching Certificates:

• 1. 3-Year Temporary Certificate (Issued ONLY to give a coach the opportunity to complete the requirements for the 5-Year Certificate. It is NOT renewable.)
• 2. 5-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate

WHO NEEDS IT?

• Coaches who are paid a supplement from the school District but DO NOT hold a Temporary or Professional Educator Certificate.
• Volunteer Coaches who are employees of the Collier County Public Schools, but do not hold a Temporary or Professional Educator’s Certification.
