Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is hiring a part-time Before and After School Assistant Teacher to support BASE sites at local elementary schools. You will supervise children, promote a safe learning environment, and engage youth in structured activities before and after school each day.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, childcare experience, and coursework in early childhood or related fields. CDA preferred; DHS compliance required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2,500 hours of childcare experience preferred.
• Completion of 30 credit hours in early childhood or related field is required or preferred.
• 15 college credits plus one year related experience is expected.
• Current CDA certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supervision of all students in the BASE program.
• Provide a safe, clean, and risk-free environment for children.
• Engage with children to promote development and participation.
• Greet parents daily and address concerns with the lead teacher or director.
• Follow DHS procedures and assist others to do the same.
• Maintain attendance, sign-in/out, and accident/incident records.
