Job summary

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden seeks a Manager, Base Memberships to lead the strategic and operational direction of the base membership program. You will drive paid-household acquisition, growth, renewals, retention, and reactivation while moving members into Friends and CRHS levels.

You will oversee pricing, benefits, campaigns, segmentation, engagement, and performance analysis, using data to optimize the member journey and ensure alignment with the Arboretum’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible membership, annual giving, donor engagement experience.
• Proven success growing and retaining memberships and achieving revenue goals.
• Experience developing strategy, managing budgets, forecasting revenue, and using data.
• Proficiency with CRM and ticketing or membership platforms; Raiser’s Edge and Ticketure preferred.
• Ability to balance long-range strategy with relationship development and operational follow-through.
• Evenings and weekends availability and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead annual base-membership plan with acquisition, growth, revenue, and ROI targets.
• Recommend membership levels, pricing, benefits, policies, and promotions.
• Develop audience segments, testing plans, and offer strategies with teams.
• Monitor results, test approaches, and reallocate resources by performance.
• Own renewal, retention, lapsed-member recapture, and reactivation strategies.
• Set goals and plans for moving qualified members into Friends and CRHS levels.
• Set strategy for base-member communications, events, previews, experiences.
• Oversee base membership benefits and fulfillment standards with partners.
• Use surveys and feedback to improve satisfaction, retention, and growth.
• Maintain records and dashboards for revenue, acquisition, and performance.
• Develop revenue and expense projections; manage budget with leadership.
