Job summary

UPS is seeking a Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Maintenance Mechanic for a 24x7 package handling facility. The role involves maintaining AC/DC electrical equipment, motors, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and welding as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates will have a strong electrical background, be able to pass electrical assessments, and be willing to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical background with ability to pass electrical assessment.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Willing to work 1st-3rd shift in a 24x7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC/DC electrical equipment such as batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photo electrical devices, transducers, VFDs and encoders.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace pneumatic equipment such as diverters, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
• Welding equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grating as defined by scope of work.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment.
