Job summary

UPS is hiring Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics to maintain a UPS package handling facility. The role encompasses troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting a fast-paced, 24x7 operation across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Ability to work 1st/2nd/3rd shift in a 24x7 operation.
• Strong electrical background and ability to pass electrical assessment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photo electrical devices, transducers, VFDs and encoders.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyors, bearings, and transfer plates.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace pneumatic equipment such as diverters, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
• Welding equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grating as defined by scope of work.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment.
