Job summary

UPS is hiring Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics to maintain a package handling facility. The role requires a strong electrical background and the ability to work across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts in a 24x7 operation.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, welding when needed, and performing preventive maintenance on conveyors and related equipment. The position offers comprehensive pay and benefits in a union environment.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical background required.
• Willingness to work 1st/2nd/3rd shift in a 24x7 operation.
• Must pass electrical assessment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC/DC electrical equipment (batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo devices, photoelectrics, transducers, VFDs, encoders).
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace motors, belts, chains, sprockets, pulleys, conveyors, bearings, PLCs.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace pneumatic equipment (diverters, lubricators, hoses, coils).
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace hydraulic equipment (hoses, fittings, cylinders, pumps).
• Weld components such as handrails, conveyor supports, etc. as scope defines.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on conveyors and power industrial equipment.
