Job summary

UPS is hiring a Temporary Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanics to maintain a busy package handling facility. The role requires strong electrical skills and the ability to complete both electrical and mechanical assessments.

The position supports 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts in a 24 x 7 operation; candidates must be prepared for a fast-paced environment and have a solid electrical background.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical background and ability to complete electrical and mechanical assessments.
• Maintenance in a 24x7 operation.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace electrical equipment including batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, encoders and VFDs.
• Inspect and repair mechanical components such as motors, conveyors, bearings, belts and pulleys.
• Inspect and repair pneumatic equipment like diverters and hoses; inspect hydraulic components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment including conveyors and power industrial gear.
