Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a technically minded BAS Integrations Engineer in Sugar Land, TX to support and maintain live BACnet integrations between our platform and customer building automation systems.

You will own the ongoing health of deployed integrations for roughly 6–12 months post-launch, focusing on the networking layer that connects the platform to the customer's BAS network, and serving as the technical interface for vendors, customers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Direct, hands-on BACnet configuration and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong BACnet/IP and/or BACnet MS/TP practical experience.
• Ability to map custom BACnet points and configure BBMDs.

Responsibilities

• Own ongoing health of deployed BACnet integrations for 6–12 months post-launch.
• Maintain networking layer connecting platform to customer BAS network.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and vendors as the technical point of contact.
• Coordinate with customer IT and facilities teams when issues arise.
• Troubleshoot BACnet, Modbus/LonWorks and related protocols in live environments.

We’re expanding our BAS (Building Automation System) integration team and looking for a technically minded engineer to support and maintain live BACnet integrations between our platform and customer building automation systems. This role sits on the BAS Integrations team — for each project you’re assigned, you’ll own the ongoing health of the deployed integration for roughly 6-12 months post-launch, including the networking layer that connects our platform to the customer’s BAS network, rather than building new platform features. You’ll work closely with our Project Manager and be the technical point of contact when vendors, customers, or internal teams need answers about a live integration.

Skills and Requirements

Direct, hands-on building automation experience is more important than a particular degree or number of years

General HVAC or facilities experience alone is insufficient. The candidate needs real BACnet configuration and troubleshooting experience

• oStrong practical experience with BACnet/IP and/or BACnet MS/TP
• oAbility to create and map custom BACnet points
• oExperience configuring BBMDs for multi-network deployments
• oWorking knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and subnetting
• oStrong production troubleshooting and debugging skills
• oAbility to work directly with BAS vendors, customer IT teams, and facilities personnel
• oModbus, LonWorks, or other building/industrial protocols
• oNetwork+, CCNA, BAS, controls, or similar certifications
• oFacilities technology, property technology, or IoT platforms
• oManaged-services or technical-support experience
