Opportunity Profile

Location: Boulder, CO (and surrounding areas, including Denver region)

Position Title: BAS Specialist (Building Automation Systems Specialist)

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly visible and impactful role at a pivotal moment of transformation and growth. The organization has recently undergone a significant acquisition by a large national mechanical and building automation leader, creating a powerful combination: the close-knit culture and agility of a respected local business, now backed by the scale, resources, and career mobility of a national powerhouse.

The BAS Specialist hired into this role will play a critical part in integrating new operations, supporting expanding service lines, and delivering high-value solutions across a rapidly growing portfolio. With multiple acquisitions underway and additional growth planned, this individual will be stepping into a dynamic environment where their technical expertise will directly influence project success and customer satisfaction.

This role is not simply about maintaining systems, it is about building and scaling a best-in-class controls operation. The selected candidate will contribute to commissioning new systems, troubleshooting complex environments, and helping integrate multiple BAS platforms across newly acquired businesses. There is immediate demand for this expertise, including opportunities to support dedicated client sites and mission-critical facilities.

Longer term, the opportunity expands even further. With the backing of a large national organization and an aggressive growth strategy, including plans to significantly scale operations, the individual in this role will have access to career paths far beyond a typical controls technician. Whether advancing into leadership, specializing in advanced integrations, or supporting large-scale national projects, the trajectory is limited only by ambition and performance.

The Company

The organization is a recognized leader in mechanical systems and building automation, known for executing complex and large-scale projects across commercial and industrial environments. Backed by a national platform, the company operates with substantial resources and a strong presence across multiple markets.

Despite this scale, the local operation maintains a strong identity rooted in collaboration, long-tenured employees, and a family-oriented culture. Many team members have built decades-long careers within the organization, reflecting a commitment to employee development and retention that is rare in the industry.

The company is currently in a period of rapid expansion, fueled by strategic acquisitions of local BAS firms and the integration of new capabilities. This growth strategy is designed to create a dominant regional presence in building automation while maintaining strong local teams supported by enterprise resources.

The Boss

The role reports into leadership shaped by decades of industry experience and a proven track record of developing talent. The hiring leader began their career as a technician and advanced through leadership roles, gaining deep understanding across operations, service, and sales.

They are highly focused on building an environment where employees are not just contributors, but long-term stakeholders in the success of the organization. Their leadership philosophy emphasizes growth, mentorship, and creating opportunities for individuals to shape their own careers.

With the recent acquisition, this leader has successfully guided the team through transition while ensuring existing employees are already benefiting from new opportunities, including promotions into broader corporate roles. This commitment to people-first leadership is a defining characteristic of the team.
