Job summary
Southwest Electrical Contracting Services in Wilmington, NC, is seeking a motivated Building Automation System (BAS) Installer Helper to support our installation team on commercial and industrial automation projects. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to start a career in electrical or building automation.
You will assist with installing conduit, pulling wire, mounting devices, and supporting lead installers to ensure safety and quality.
Qualifications
- Meets SWECS minimum eligibility requirements for a new hire.
- Possesses a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Has access to reliable transportation.
- Maintains an excellent record of attendance.
- Maintains a minimum required tool list.
- Able to work in construction environments (indoors/outdoors, ladders, lifts, etc.).
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor throughout the day.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools preferred.
- Prior electrical or construction experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of BAS controls, panels, and devices
- Help run conduit, pull wire, and organize materials on job sites
- Support lead installers and technicians with daily tasks
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Follow safety policies and OSHA guidelines at all times
- Load/unload tools, equipment, and materials
- Learn BAS systems, electrical practices, and installation techniques
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
