Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking an HVAC controls programmer in Houston, TX. The role involves in-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, writing sequences of operation, troubleshooting BAS, and coordinating with electricians and HVAC professionals to optimize building performance.

You will prepare written reports and recommendations focused on ROI, leveraging Cenergistic technical insights to improve energy efficiency across chillers, boilers, air-handlers, and VRF systems.

• Experience in programming and troubleshooting BMS/BAS systems.
• Ability to read mechanical plans and wiring diagrams.
• Coordinate with electricians, HVAC technicians and engineers.

• Troubleshoot, test and commission BAS & HVAC systems and electronics.

• Document work and procedures including point-to-point checkout and commissioning.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate both surface and in-depth programming knowledge of various controls systems/multiplatform (e.g. Tridium, Carrier, Trane, Alerton, ALC and Johnson Controls, Siemens).
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC system operation including chillers/boilers and packaged DX systems.
• Write sequences of operation for improved efficiency of HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshooting, testing and commissioning BAS & HVAC systems and electronics.
• DDC Applications Programming, both graphical and text-based systems.
• Read and understand mechanical plans and wiring diagrams.
• Coordinate work with other trades (electricians, HVAC technicians, mechanical engineers, information technology, etc.).
• Document work and procedures including point to point checkout and commissioning.
• Train non-technical personnel on HVAC and energy-consuming systems.
• Utilize technical knowledge base to advise on energy efficient operational strategies for building systems for HVAC systems including chillers/boilers, air-handlers, VRF, etc.
• Prepare written reports, assessments, and recommendations, with a focus of return on investment for use by clients in assessing the benefits of implementing Cenergistic technical recommendations.
